Opening of the college for the 2019/2020 academic year for first year students

The Polytechnic would like to inform the newly selected candidates of 2019/2020 intake that the college shall open for the new academic year as follows:

Opening Date: Monday 13th May 2019

Those to be accommodated on campus should arrive on Sunday, 12th May 2019. 

ORIENTATION 

Orientation will be conducted during the first week of opening from 13th to 18th May 2019. All first year students are advised to attend all sessions during the week.

STUDENT SUPPORT

All first year students can apply for a loan to the Higher Education Student’s Loans Board (HESLB) during the Orientation week. Loan application forms will be available at the College and closing date for loan application is 30th May 2019. 

The College expects that parents/guardians will provide their wards with money for meals, transport and accommodation as well as other requirements as determined by their programme of study. 

FEES FOR 2019/ 2020 ACADEMIC YEAR

Tuition fees for the 2019/2020 academic year are as follows:

-      MK400, 000.00     (MK200 000.00 per semester)

MODE OF FEES PAYMENT 

All new students will be given their student account number which they will use to deposit their fees. 

ACCOMMODATION

First year students who wish to be considered for accommodation are required to complete an application form which can be collected from the office of the Dean of Students or downloaded from the Polytechnic website. The completed forms should be submitted to the same office by Tuesday, 7th May 2019. Limited spaces are available at Chichiri.

Accommodation fee per semester is MK40 000.00. Note that accommodation will only be accessed after paying the full amount. 

REGISTRATION

Registration shall be conducted for two weeks from the opening date. Students are reminded that rules and regulations pertaining to registration process shall apply and therefore should be strictly adhered to. Only those who will pay at least half of the semester’s fees will be allowed to register.
