The Government of Malawi has received financing from the World Bank towards the cost of the Skills for a Vibrant Economy (SAVE) Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for the Construction of a MUBAS Two-Storey Building and Associated External Works at Nanjiri in Lilongwe.

1. MUBAS now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders in the NCIC Unlimited Category (Building) for the Construction of Two-Storey Building and Associated External Works at Nanjiri in Lilongwe. The estimated construction period is 9 months.
2. Bidding will be conducted through National Competitive Bidding (NCB) using Request for Bids (RFB) and is open to all eligible Bidders.
3. A Pre-Bid meeting shall take place on 17th January 2025 from 10.00hrs at the construction site in Nanjiri in Lilongwe.
4. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences, Procurement and Disposal Department, Email: mduwa@mubas.ac.mw  and inspect the bidding document during office hours from 08.00hrs to 16.00hrs.
5. The bidding document in English may be purchased by interested eligible Bidders upon payment of a non-refundable fee of MK30,000.00.
6. The payment will be through the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences to Bank: National Bank of Malawi, Chichiri Branch, Account name: Poly Main, Account number: 737356. The deposit slip will be used to collect the bidding document from the Procurement and Disposal Department by the interested bidder after presenting a receipt as proof of payment.
7. Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 10th February 2025 at 10.00 am. Electronic Bidding will not be permitted. Late Bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the Bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the address below on 10th February 2025 at 10.00 am.
8. All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of MK60,000,000.00 in from of a Bank Guarantee. The Bid Security shall be submitted using the Bid Security Form included in Section IV of the Request for Bids (RFB) document.
9. Sealed bids clearly marked “Construction of a Two-Storey Building and Associated External Works at Nanjiri” must be deposited in the tender box at the MUBAS Porters Lodge to the address below. This should be before or at 10.00am Malawian time on 10th February 2025 and this shall also mark the opening time for bids where bidders or their appointed representatives shall be free to attend. MUBAS is not bound to accept the lowest or any tender. Late bids shall be rejected.
