The Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (formerly known as The Polytechnic) was established as a public university by Act of Parliament Number 19 of 2019. The University is positioned to meet the multi-faced needs of industry and society at large, by offering a range of undergraduate programmes in various disciplines such as Applied Sciences, Built Environment, Education and Media Studies, Engineering and Commerce.
The University invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to enroll into a 3 years non-residential Diploma programmes which are offered at Blantyre campus.

A third year Journalism and Media Studies student at the University of Malawi, the Polytechnic, Maurlin Madukani won the best women’s entry award of the 2018 Malawi Writers Union (MAWU) Competition for her short story, The Wrong Turn.
