The Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering (Hons) programme focuses to address the demands and need for well-trained biomedical engineers. Students in the programme acquire strong foundation and practical skills in the major areas of biomedical engineering including biomechanics. bioinstrumentation, bioimaging, biomaterials, and maintenance of biomedical equipment.
Admission Criteria Requirements
The selection of applicants is based upon consideration of individual academic achievement. In the case of mature entry candidates, work experience is needed.
Normal Entry
- Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE), “O” Level, IGCSE, or GCE with six credits including English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, (Physical Science, Physics or Chemistry).
Mature Entry
- Diploma in Biomedical Engineering from a reputable institution
- MSCE or its Equivalent with credits in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
- 2 years’ work experience
