City & Guilds Mechanical Engineering Technician Programmes (July-December 2026 Intake) - Call for Applications

The Department of Mechanical Engineering is informing the general public that it will be offering the following City & Guilds Technician Diploma Programmes for the JULY-DECEMBER, 2026 intake:


  1. 7290-13 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles Level 3
  2. 2850-89 Diploma in Engineering-Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering Level 3


Entry Requirements

  1. Minimum qualification is MSCE or equivalent with at least passes in Mathematics and Physical Science/General Science,
  2. Candidates with TEVET certificates(level 1,2,3), Malawi Craft certificates and Trade Test certificates (grade 3,2,1) in a related field are encouraged to apply.


General Information

  1. Tuition fee includes all required practical lessons and at least half of the fees have to be deposited when enrolling,
  2. Candidates are required to pay examination fees to City & Guilds through the centre of the Institute of Continuing Education(ICE).
  3. All courses are offered both weekdays and weekends and are on a non-residential basis,
  4. Registration is in progress and classes will run from 20th JULY,2026 to 11th DECEMBER, 2026, exams shall be administered early DECEMBER, 2026.
  5. All new students should pay a once-off, non-refundable registration fee of K10, 000.00, which should be deposited into the following National Bank current account: MUBAS, Account number: 433578,
  6. Forms can be collected from MUBAS Main Campus, Mechanical Engineering Fabrication and welding workshop (T6) or Motor Vehicle Workshop (T5). Alternatively, they can be downloaded below,
  7. Female candidates are encouraged to apply.
  8. Completed forms, copy of application fee deposit and certificates should be sent through the provided email address, offices or phone numbers.
