The Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) is pleased to invite eligible candidates to apply for admission into its ODeL POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES.
SCHOOL OF BUILT ENVIRONMENT
MASTER OF SCIENCE IN ENVIRONMENT AND DEVELOPMENT – ODeL
Applicants must have any of the following degrees: Bachelor of Science in Land Economy/Real Estate, Geography, Environmental Studies, Development Studies, Community Development, Physical Planning, or any relevant built environment degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.
Programme Duration: 2 years
Delivery Mode: ODeL
This is a multidisciplinary programme aimed at equipping students with an understanding of the complex link between environment and economic development in Malawi and across the globe. The following are some of modules: Theories and Practices of Development; Principles of Environmental Sustainability, Agrarian and Environmental Change in Africa, Sustainable Land Management, Natural Resources and Environmental Economics, Carbon Accounting and Market; Environmental and Social Impact Assessment; Environmental Governance and Policy; Gender and Environment; Disaster Risk Management; and Research Methodology.
Fees Structure
Successful applicants shall be required to pay the Malawi Kwacha equivalent of US$2,750.00 per year for domicile and SADC students and US$3,250.00 per year for other international students to cater for tuition, research project supervision and dissertation examination.
SCHOOL OF EDUCATION, COMMUNICATION AND MEDIA STUDIES
UNIVERSITY CERTIFICATE IN EDUCATION - ODeL
Applicants must have Minimum of a bachelors’ degree in any field from a recognised institution.
Programme Duration: 1 year
Delivery Mode: ODeL
This is an education programme aimed at equipping students who already hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution with the pedagogical knowledge, practical teaching skills, and professional competencies required for effective teaching, learning and assessment in diverse educational settings.
Fees Structure
Successful applicants shall be required to pay the Malawi Kwacha equivalent of US$380.00 per year for domicile and SADC students and US$500.00 per year for other international students to cater for tuition and Teaching Practice supervision.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
A complete application package must include:
- Proof of payment of the application fee (A non-refundable application fee of MK20,000.00 for Malawian applicants and US$60.00 for international applicants)
- Completed PG programmes’ application form.
- Certified copy of academic transcript/ academic record.
- Certified copies of relevant certificates.
- Reference letters from two (2) traceable referees (at least one academic).
- Recent curriculum vitae.
