The 24 MUBAS graduates were enrolled at UNIMA under the previous federal university system.

Speaking during the ceremony, Chairperson of the UNIMA Council, Dr. Benedicto Okomaatani Malunga, congratulated the graduates on their achievement, saying the graduation was a culmination of hard work, resilience, perseverance and focus.

Dr. Malunga said that, as the country grapples with a myriad of challenges, much is expected from the graduates to contribute meaningfully to Malawi’s socio-economic development.

He also urged the graduates to uphold the core values of integrity, ethical standards, discipline and professionalism as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.

“This graduation is not the end of your education, but the commencement of a chapter when knowledge must translate into meaningful, tangible solutions for the country,” said Dr. Malunga.

He added that academic qualifications can only be considered valuable if they are used to provide solutions to the various challenges facing communities across the country.

The graduation ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including the Secretary for Education, Sciences and Technology, Dr. Ken Ndala.

The MUBAS delegation was led by Councillor Samuel Perenje and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Ishmael Kosamu.
