In his lecture, Chilonga underscored the pressing challenges related to land tenure, land rights, and the need for comprehensive land policy reforms in the country.
"These issues are at the forefront of Malawi's development agenda, and the discussion provided a timely platform for academic discourse and policy dialogue," said Chilonga.
He further said that land reforms are crucial for Malawi's development.
“We need to ensure that our land policies are inclusive, equitable, and sustainable, taking into account the needs of all stakeholders, particularly the most vulnerable members of our society," he added.
The Executive Dean of the School of Built Environment at MUBAS, Dr. Witness Kuotcha, said the public lecture aligns with MUBAS's commitment to fostering discussions that shape national development strategies.
