The graduation ceremony, held on Saturday, 17 October 2026, celebrated participants from the February and September cohorts who acquired digital skills to prepare them for an increasingly technology-driven world.
The programme enrolls children aged 6 to 17 to equip them with essential digital capabilities, including coding, critical thinking and teamwork.
Speaking during the ceremony, Acting Innovation Hub Manager Tamala Mumba emphasised the importance of parental involvement in enrolling children in digital skills programmes.
“Through the programme, children have developed critical thinking skills alongside coding and collaboration through teamwork. They learn to identify problems and explore possible technological solutions,” Mumba said.
She noted that equipping children with digital skills at an early age would better position them to take advantage of opportunities in the global digital space.
Parents have also commended MUBAS for introducing the programme, describing it as a gateway to digital technology for young people.
Edina Chapinga, guardian to graduate Bradley Littlehard, said the training had helped nurture creativity and expose children to the digital world.
“Since enrolling in the programme, I have seen noticeable changes in my ward. He has developed an interest in creating a game that will involve people living together as a community,” Chapinga said.
Since its inception in 2022, the Hello Tomorrow initiative has trained more than 3,000 children across various cohorts, contributing to the development of a new generation of technology-driven innovators in Malawi.
