The Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) on 26 July 2025 participated in the 5th Public Universities Staff Sports Association of Malawi (PUSSAM) inter-varsity games.

Held at University of Malawi (UNIMA) campus in Zomba, the event brought together staff members from all public universities in Malawi.

The games were officially opened by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Malawi, Dr. Sunduzwayo Madise, who encouraged participants to compete in a spirit of friendship and sportsmanship.

"We want to compete in a manner that brings in friendships, networks, and relaxation," Madise said.

MUBAS teams participated in a range of sports, including netball, football, bawo, basketball, darts, pool, nguli, and volleyball.

The university's teams excelled in several categories, with notable performances in nguli and pool, where MUBAS emerged as the top winner. The football and netball teams also put up a good fight, securing third place in their respective categories.

The theme of this year's event, "Compete, Connect, and Celebrate," gave the members opportunity to connect with colleagues from other universities.
