The training is being delivered in two phases, starting with staff and followed by students. It aims to promote healthy relationships within the university and equip participants with knowledge on how to prevent sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment.
As part of the training, participants are being introduced to designated reporting channels through PSEAH focal points. They are being assured that all cases will be handled with confidentiality and that necessary support will be provided.
In her remarks, Gender Equity and Safeguarding Specialist, Ruth Milandu, highlighted that the training will focus on raising awareness and encouraging personal responsibility among both staff and students.
“We want to ensure that everyone is aware, understands boundaries, and is able to refrain from prohibited conduct when interacting with each other” said Milandu.
Participants are being encouraged to speak up and report not only incidents but also any concerns, as a way of preventing harm and protecting others.
Through this training, MUBAS continues to demonstrate its commitment to creating a safe, respectful and accountable environment for all.
