The Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) in partnership with USAID’s Strengthening Higher Education Access in Malawi Activity (SHEAMA) is inviting applications for their Dream Builder Youth Entrepreneurship Incubation Initiative (DYEII). This is an online entrepreneurship program focusing on the basics of business incubation and acceleration. It covers relevant topics such as business idea generation, marketing, finance management, human resources management, and business proposal development among others.
In addition to the interactive courses, participants have access to helpful tools and templates needed for business management. Throughout the program, a Business Plan Generator guides the participants in the creation of a business plan. The program is selfpaced and takes 3 to 5 weeks to complete.
Successful applicants will automatically be given a certificate of completion upon successful completion of the course. MUBAS and USAID’s SHEAMA will award grants not exceeding USD2, 500.00 per successful candidate in order to facilitate business incubation and acceleration. This aims to ensure that upon graduation, students are equipped with skills relevant for both formal and informal employment, including entrepreneurship.
The awardees will be arrived at through the review of the business plans. Participants will submit these for grant consideration upon completing the DYEII’s online course. The business plans should be aligned with the course the applicant is undertaking or recently graduated from (not more than three years).
