The Electrical Engineering Department trains students in the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems, preparing them for careers in power generation, electronics, and telecommunications.

The Civil Engineering Department, one of the oldest in the MUBAS School of Engineering, trains students to become skilled professionals in the construction industry across Malawi and the SADC region.

The department prepares students in mechanical engineering, providing practical and theoretical expertise for careers in design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. Faculty also contribute through research, consultancy, and industrial projects.

The department trains students in mining engineering, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to meet industry demands in mineral exploration, extraction, and processing. Staff are also engaged in research, consultancy, and industry collaborations.
