Opening of the 2026/2027 Academic Year

The Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) wishes to inform all newly selected students that the 2026/2027 Academic Year will commence as follows:OPEN, DISTANCE AND e-LEARNING (ODeL) PROGRAMMESStudents selected to pursue Diploma and Bachelor's degree programmes under the Open, Distance and e-Learning (ODeL) mode will commence their studies on 20th July 2026.All newly selected ODeL students are required to report physically to campus for a two-week orientation and face-to-face contact session from 20th July to 31st July 2026.The University will provide on-campus accommodation during the orientation period for students who require it, subject to availability, at a fee of MK15,000.Students wishing to stay on campus should note the following:Room keys will be issued by the Office of the Hostel Liaison Officer on Sunday, 19th July 2026, from 10:00 a.m.All room keys must be returned by 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, 1st August 2026.Interested students should deposit the accommodation fee of MK15,000 into the following account:Bank: National Bank of MalawiAccount Name: Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS)Account Number: 737461Students will be required to present proof of payment when collecting their room keys.FACE-TO-FACE DEGREE AND DIPLOMA PROGRAMMESStudents selected to pursue generic Bachelor's degree programmes and the Foundation Year are required to report for orientation on Monday, 27th July 2026. Students are advised to make their own accommodation arrangements before reporting for studies. Classes for these programmes will commence on Monday, 3rd August 2026.Students selected to pursue Weekend Diploma Programmes will report for orientation on Saturday, 1st August 2026.MUBAS-PARENTS AND GUARDIANS INTERACTIVE SESSIONThe University will hold a meeting with parents and guardians of all newly selected students on Sunday, 26 July 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the School of Engineering Auditorium. This meeting aims to acquaint parents and guardians with student life and success programs while defining the vital partnership between parents/guardians and the University in providing a strong support system for the student’s academic journey.
