Council of the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) approved the admission of 3,571 candidates (1,987 males and 1,594 females) into various face to face and open distance and e-learning undergraduate programmes on 13th March 2026 and 8th April 2026. Recruitment for both cohorts was conducted through the Public Universities Selection System, coordinated by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).

The Council and Management warmly congratulate all successful candidates and wish them every success as they embark on their academic journey at MUBAS.

In line with its commitment to inclusivity, the University has admitted 12 candidates with special needs to pursue programmes of their choice.

OPEN, DISTANCE AND E-LEARNING SELECTION (ODeL)

The University has selected 920 candidates (586 males, and 344 females) to enroll into various undergraduate programmes. Selected candidates for the 2026/2027 intake will commence their studies on 20th July 2026.

Students are required to physically report on campus for a period of two weeks, from 19th to 31st August 2026 for orientation and face-to-face contact sessions. The University will provide accommodation for those who may need it at a fee.

FACE-TO-FACE SELECTION: DUAL INTAKE MODEL

For the 2026/2027 academic year, MUBAS has adopted a dual intake system for first-year face-to-face students:

  1. August Intake: 2,301 students will commence studies on 27th July 2026.
  2. January Intake: 350 students will commence in January 2027.

This model marks a significant step in the University’s transition to a fully semesterised academic system. It is designed to improve academic scheduling, optimize use of teaching facilities and staff, and expand access to higher education. The University plans to progressively expand the January intake in future years.
