Opportunity for Research Support - Call for Applications

The Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS), in collaboration with the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) and Green Impact Technologies, is implementing a research project aimed at increasing access to clean energy in Malawi through the use of smart technologies. The project is funded by the National Commission for Science and Technology (NCST–Malawi) and is being implemented as a joint initiative with Rwanda.

An opportunity has arisen within the project to recruit a postgraduate research student (MSc or MPhil) who is registered with MUBAS and whose research interests align with clean energy and smart technology. The selected student will join the research team as a Research Assistant and will be required to utilize data generated from the project toward the development of their thesis.

The project will provide a studentship allowance and cover costs related to data collection. The engagement period for the student will be a minimum of one year.

Interested candidates should include the following in their application package:

  1. Indication of their current postgraduate programme of study at MUBAS and registration number.
  2. The title of the dissertation/thesis they are undertaking or proposing to undertake.
  3. A brief paragraph explaining how the research support will contribute to the successful completion of their dissertation/thesis.
  4. A written commitment confirming that the research support will be used exclusively for their current postgraduate research.
