In her address, the Vice Chancellor for MUBAS, Associate Professor Nancy Chitera stressed the importance of parental involvement and highlighted the need for university management and parents to engage on how best to support newly admitted students to succeed in their respective fields of study.
She also assured parents and guardians that MUBAS management is fully committed to providing the necessary academic and social support to ensure students excel in their studies.
“MUBAS is ready to give your child an edge in their educational experience, and we are here to take them beyond what they have imagined they could achieve, so let us walk this journey together to achieve our vision of building a better Malawi,” said Chitera.
Chairperson of the MUBAS Parents Association, Paul Chikwekwe, commended MUBAS for organizing the meeting and encouraged fellow parents and guardians to take an active role in their children’s education.
“Let us remain engaged by regularly monitor our children’s academic progress and welfare,” Chikwekwe said.
At the beginning of every academic year, MUBAS organizes Parents and Guardians Interactive Sessions where apart from interacting with MUBAS management, parents and guardians tour several university facilities, including the UniPod, the Library, and the Mining Laboratories in order to appreciate the learning environment for their children.
