Steven Chirambo leads the Internal Audit Department at MUBAS. In this role, he provides the Institution with independent and objective assurance on the efficacy of control systems, corporate governance, and risk management. His work is central to adding value and improving the University's operations through strategic insights and recommendations.

Steven is a highly qualified finance and audit professional, being a Certified Internal Auditor and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). Furthermore, he holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Eastern and Southern African Management Institute (ESAMI) and a Bachelor of Accountancy Degree from the University of Malawi. His extensive expertise spans across internal and external audit, enterprise risk management, corporate governance, and policy development.

One of his notable professional achievements is the successful leadership in setting up and operationalising the Internal Audit Department at MUBAS.

His vision is to uphold the highest standards of integrity and accountability, whilst positioning the Internal Audit Department as a trusted business advisor that strengthens decision-making, enhances efficiency, and supports the University in achieving its strategic mission.
