Speaking during the MUBAS Sports Day organized by the MUBAS Staff Sports Association (MUBASSA), Chitera described the event as an important initiative aimed at bringing together management, academic, and administrative staff through sports and recreation.

She commended all staff members who participated in the event, saying the initiative was a positive step towards strengthening relationships and building a more united university community.

“It is encouraging to see colleagues from different sections of the university come together in this way. I hope that this is not the end, but rather the beginning of more opportunities for us to unite, interact, and come together as one MUBAS family,” said Chitera.

The sports day featured various activities, including football, netball, tug of war, and aerobics. The event was designed to promote physical fitness while strengthening relationships among staff members from different departments.

MUBASSA President John Mutepuwa said the association remains committed to organizing sporting activities that promote staff wellness and strengthen workplace relationships.

“Sporting activities create a more relaxed atmosphere for interaction among staff members, including members of the executive management,” said Mutepuwa.

He added that such events provide an opportunity for staff to engage outside the workplace, enhancing teamwork, camaraderie, and a sense of belonging within the institution.

The sports day brought together staff from across the university in a spirit of friendly competition, teamwork, and unity, reinforcing MUBAS' commitment to employee well-being and institutional cohesion
